Little Mermaid Birthday Party and Little Mermaid Cake Design
When my daughter, Rachel, was young I took her to see Little Mermaid and it’s always been one of our favorite Disney movies. This weekend Rachel’s daughter, Kennedy, turned 5 years old and they celebrated with a Little Mermaid birthday party.
Today I’m sharing the highlights with you through pictures.
Her birthday was on Friday and they had a small party at home for her. Her BIG party was on Saturday because the place my daughter wanted to have the party wasn’t available until Saturday.
Little Mermaid Cake Design
I should have taken this picture from the side because you can’t see all the figures clearly, but King Triton, Aerial, Flounder and all the rest are there! Besides being beautiful, the cake tasted great too. It was made by a local bakery and they always have delicious cakes.
The Dinglehopper
Rachel bought the candlesticks at a consignment store and hot glued the forks in them. As far as I know, no one combed their hair with a fork like Ariel did in the movie!
No birthday is complete without balloons and there were plenty of those!
A Birthday Box
Rachel took this shoe box and added some hot glue, sea shells and pictures. It was a Valentine’s Box before it became a Birthday Box!
The Birthday Girl is on the left and her cousin and bestie, is on the right. They had a blast.
I caught the Birthday Girl telling my friend Peggy a secret.
The venue for the birthday was a kid’s gym and all the kids enjoyed the jumping, running, and playing. The parents liked it too because they got lots and lots of exercise before heading home. Hopefully they were tired enough to sleep.
Did you like the movie Little Mermaid? What is your favorite Disney Movie? Hoping some of my friends from #DisneySMMC will stop by and weigh in with their favorite Disney movie!

Aww, Little Mermaid is a classic film, isn’t it 🙂 What a great cake.
What a beautiful cake! Looks like fun!
It seems like Ariel has had a come back. How fun! Happy Birthday to her.
Looks like a super birthday party. Very nice.
Looks like a fun party. It’s amazing what they can do with cake art these days. All that running and jumping should take care of all the sugar 🙂
All that birthday stuff is certainly neat! The Little Mermaid was always my favorite Disney movie, too. 😀
Thanks for stopping by and I’ll have to check out Mulan. I haven’t seen that one!
What a good grandmother you are! I’m sure they enjoy getting their cake as much as you do making it!
Thanks Steve!
Aww! A very Happy 5th Birthday to Kennedy 🙂
Looked like she had a wonderful day and those lovely cakes 🙂
Have a birthdaytastic week 🙂
Cute theme…we aren’t big on that one (weirdly, my daughter doesn’t seem to watch the disney movies except Frozen…) I’m a Mulan chick myself!
Looks like the Little Mermaid theme was a hit! I love having the grandchildren over for their birthdays and always make a special cake. Last month it was our eldest grandson’s birthday so I made him a soccer field cake with players and soccer balls. Next month is my youngest grandson’s birthday and a dump truck will be my project. They get such a thrill and I do too. Thanks for sharing your lovely ideas and have a great day!
