Is Your Grandchild Safe?
When my child entrusts me with their child I want to make sure I keep them safe. Parents and grandparents have a huge responsibility when they transport children. Often grandparents are their grand-children’s primary care giver and so it’s important that we stay informed about the best safety products available. For instance, did you know that…..
The American Academy of Pediatrics Has Updated Their Recommendations on Car Seats
New Guidelines say: Children should ride rear-facing to age 2, use a booster until at least age 8
Why? Because new research has found children are safer in rear-facing car seats. A 2007 study in the journal Injury Prevention showed that children under age 2 are 75 percent less likely to die or be severely injured in a crash if they are riding rear-facing.
Now I don’t know about you but that’s all the information I need to convince me that my grandchildren will stay facing the rear!
Graco has been making car seats for a long time and recently they sent me their new Snugride Click Connect 40 to review. The coolest thing about this car seat is it can accommodate a child from the time they are born until they are 2 years old. To see how it works go to http://www.gracosafety.com/ I promise you will be amazed!
As your child or grandchild grows you remove some of the padding and adjust the straps. That’s it! Not complicated at all!
This is my granddaughter showing you that she doesn’t need the extra padding because she’s a “big girl.” Shhhh, don’t tell her she’s not. You might hurt her feelings. By the time she outgrows this seat, who knows, maybe she’ll have a little brother or sister on the way and they can use her car seat!
Thank you, Graco, for helping keep our children and grandchildren safe!
By the way, you will notice that Kennedy already has her own phone. She says to tell you her number is 1-800-NanaSpoilsMe

What a cuties! Thanks for the heads up on the standards. I sometimes feel for the babies, they are strapped in so tightly they can’t move….but that does keep them safer than we kept ours back in the day when they could ride anywhere.
