Happy 5th Birthday NanaHood!

NanaHood is having it’s 5th birthday! I can’t believe I’ve been doing this blog for 5 years. When Char and I created NanaHood I had one grandchild…now I have five! If I keep having grandchildren at that rate I am going to be one very busy nana in the next several years.

   Since 5 is the magic number for NanaHood let’s start this party with 5 Reasons I love blogging.

1. You…..No kidding! Connecting with other grandparents and parents the past 5 years has been such a blessing. I’ve made friends from all over the U.S. and from several other countries. Without the Internet and NanaHood this wouldn’t have happened. It’s been 5 great years of making friends and I hope it continues for a long, long time.

2. Celebrating children and grandparents. I love children and being a grandparent. NanaHood allows me to share that love with you!

3. Photography. I am not a professional photographer but on Wednesdays bloggers from all over the world share their pictures. I look forward to Wednesday and seeing what everyone has been photographing. Every time I write a post I choose an image to go with it. Most of the time I use pictures I snapped myself. I’d like to think that maybe my photography skills have improved because of this blog.

4. NanaHood causes me to think about issues that pertain to grandparents. I watch the news for stories about being a grandparent so that I can share them with you. I hope that by sharing things with you that are relevant to grandparents we can all benefit and be better grandparents!

5. Writing. I have loved to write since I was a little girl. I will never be a Stephen King or win a Pulitzer prize, but I love the written word and sharing thoughts with you.
