Best Love Songs for Boomers
I don’t know many popular songs today but sing me a line of a song that was popular “back in the day” and I bet I can finish the song for you! We each have a sound track to our lives and when I asked my boomer friends to tell me the best love songs, the ones that were popular when they were falling in love, they instantly remembered.
What song makes you remember your loved one the most?
Marie says, “At last by Etta James.” My husband chose it for our wedding song. We loved a lot of disco music, I especially love The BeeGees.
Cindy says, “Don’t Know Much” by Aaron Neville and Linda Ronstadt!! It was our wedding song. My husband passed 10 years ago and I still listen to this song and think of him! ???
Karen says, “From This Moment.” It was sung at our wedding by two of our daughters, his first two and my oldest two “bonus daughters”. Another special song was, “Could I Have This Dance?” We had it played for our first dance as a married couple.
Lynn says, “Hey Baby” by Bruce Channel was our song in 1963 and we still dance to it 54 years later. Love it.
Cyndy says, “Can’t help falling in love with you,” by Elvis. 52 yrs next week! (Congratulations!)
The best love songs are the ones that are playing in the background of our lives while we are falling in love.
I’d like to hear about your special song. Leave a comment and tell us about it!
I’m so glad and so glad you stopped by!
Your link to that song “Love Lifted Me” was something I really needed to be reminded of! Of course I love Elvis music, but there’s something about the old hymns that “speak to me”. Somehow that one did today and will be the music in my heart all day long!
