Bellview Family Farm Animals and a Bell

Bellview Family Farm

Circumstances beyond our control have prevented us from opening to the public…yet. Since we are now back home and able to pursue our dream again, I thought I would give you an update.

What we want the farm to be…

A place for family reunions, kids birthday parties, weddings, VBS events and school trips. I hope to share my love of history with children and tell them about the history of our farm (My great-grandparents lived there. My mother was born and raised there and now my grandchildren play on the playground that will soon be open for all children.) A peaceful, scenic place where cell phones are only used for pictures and the rest of the time they are turned off. A place where we can share our love of animals with you. A place where if you are hungry you can get a snack and sit at a picnic table with your family. When Blueberries are in season you can pick a pail full, pay for them and take home for a pie or your favorite blueberry treat.

In a few months we hope to have our general store stocked with Kentucky Proud items you can browse and purchase. There is a fire pit for roasting a hot dog and making s’mores. We are working on a walking trail through the wooded area and by the ponds (there are three ponds on the farm). There will be places to sit along the trail for those who just want to sit and reflect. There’s more but that’s probably enough for now.

Here are some photos I took today.

Bellview Family Farm Bell

My maiden name is Bell and today I stained the post that holds the antique dinner bell that belonged to Kate and Josh Bell many decades ago. When a child has a birthday party at our farm they get to ring the Birthday Bell. You can read more about the bell here.

Loretta Lynn getting some sunshine. Patsy Cline (her sister) was in her cage and sadly did not get her picture made.

This will be Grandma Layne’s General Store, in honor of my maternal grandmother. It is going to be so fun to decorate and stock.

The blueberries aren’t ripe yet, but soon!

Your Thoughts

Hope you have a blessed day! Let me know your thoughts about what you would like to see at Bellview Family Farm and what you would like us to stock in our store. I hope you will come see us when we open.
