All I Want for Christmas is a Cure for Cancer.
All I want for Christmas is a cure for cancer. I know, I know. That’s asking for a lot, but really and truly…that’s all I want and I know I’m not the only one.
The Grand Marshal of our Christmas parade this year is a 9 year old with cancer. I’m betting his mom has the same Christmas wish I do.
And then there is my cousin, Martha. In January she goes back to M.D. Anderson to see if she stays on the same treatment or if she has to try another one. She is a 3 time survivor of breast cancer and continues to inspire all who know and love her (including me)!
I lost my mom to cancer in 1990 and I know there are thousands, millions of us who have had to watch this disease attack our loved ones.
Cancer Statistics
An article I read today on Fox News opened with the following information,
“The global death toll from cancer rose to 8.2 million in 2012 with sharp rises in breast cancer as the disease tightened its grip in developing nations struggling to treat an illness driven by Western lifestyles.
Cancer deaths were up 8 percent from 7.6 million in a previous survey in 2008 and breast cancer killed 522,000 women last year, up 14 percent in the same period, according to the World Health Organization’s International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC).”
I HATE cancer and that’s why if I had just one wish for Christmas, it would be a cure for cancer. Do you wish it too?
