The Pink Ladies of October
It’s the last day in October and for a lot of little folks that means trick or treating.
This is my granddaughter Abby, who picked out her costume herself. Do you think she inherited my Gone With the Wind genes…I’ve only watched it a thousand times.
The end of October also signifies the end of Breast Cancer Awareness month and my campaign to make sure everyone I know has had their mammogram. It’s also the end of my fund raising efforts for the Susan G. Komen Foundation. My team (NanaHood Friends and Family) raised over $1,000 and while that’s good, next year I want to do better.
My cousin Martha leaves Sunday to go back to M.D. Anderson to find out if her treatment plan is still working. One week from today another friend will be having a lumpectomy. I’m sure each and everyone of you know someone who is fighting the breast cancer fight.
This is my last appeal this year….if you haven’t already donated to help end breast cancer, don’t you think you should?
