Photo Questions and Looking for Answers
Photo
I have been blogging for ten years and there is still so much I don’t know! People blog for different reasons and everyone has different skill sets. I came to blogging because I love to write but it was obvious to me from the beginning that I also needed to be able to make decent pictures to go with my writing because visuals and blogging go together like peanut butter and jelly.
Over the years I’ve taken some good photos and some bad ones, but I keep learning. Recently I installed an app on my phone that would enable me to improve my photos, Photoshop Fix. The thing is I still haven’t figured out how to use it properly.
For example, two of my granddaughters were over for Easter weekend and we made some snapshots but the oldest granddaughter wears glasses and as you can see by this photo, the glare is very noticeable.
Another problem I have when photographing something is deciding the best angle. Sometimes I just make tons of them and decide on what looks best later.
My son’s girlfriend made this delicious cake and I brought it over to share. I made several shots but wasn’t really pleased with any of them. This one was just too close.
This photo was interesting in that it showed the inside of the cake but I didn’t like the way it filled the whole picture. I wanted to show the cake but could not get an angle I liked. The good news is the cake was delicious and we really enjoyed eating it, even if I couldn’t get a photo of it I loved. How would you have shot it?
Other than erasing the door handle I’m happy with this photo. Actually, I’m happy with them all because it’s what in the photo that matters to me. My photography may not be the best….. but my grandchildren are!
This is a blog hop so I’d like to ask my blogger friends for their expert advice and wisdom. What app should I be using that can help me with photos that need a touch up? Should I work on them on my computer as opposed to my iPhone? I have a MacBook Pro Laptop. Thanks in advance for linking up and for sharing your thoughts on how to get quality photos!
Thanks so much, Steve!

Darling girl and the cake looks fabulous!
I think your photos are amazing, Teresa!! I simply point and shoot when it comes to taking photos!
I think your photos are natural and lovely! Real life!
I loved to use my DSLR Nikon camera in my early blogging years and I did all my photo editing in Google’s Picasa. Now Picasa is defunct and Google has a new editing program that I do not like as much called Google. Photos It seems more like Instagram editing. But as time has gone on I use my phone camera more and more and just use the editing tools that come with my Samsung 8 camera or I use the Sanpseed app.
I like all of your photos, the door handle would be easy to edit out. I better not linger because that cake looks too tempting.
That cake looks too beautiful to eat! And that angel in the red dress is just adorable. Thanks for sharing!

You are right taking pictures for some people seems easy, I struggle too with how I want pictures to turn out.
