Homemade Ornaments
I love being a nana and that’s the basis for this blog. It’s a celebration of NanaHood, the second half of the motherhood journey. But it’s also a way to honor my mother and grandmother. Mom died in 1990 and my grandmother in 2003. I think of them every day and I miss them terribly, especially at Christmas.
Every year when I place ornaments on the tree I am reminded of them. My mom loved to travel and brought me ornaments from many of the places she visited. My grandmother was a life long homemaker who knit and crocheted ornaments. Here are some of my favorites.
I am sure that when my grandmother was making these ornaments she had no idea how much I would treasure them. Not only do they remind me of her, they remind that the simple things are often best.
May you have a simply wonderful holiday season!
