Nashville Weekend

If you’ve never visited Nashville or spent much time there, you need to visit! I was there for 3 days last week and it was so much fun.

My friend, Susan, from ThatSusanWilliams drove into the city to visit me (she lives nearby) and we went to a store called Two Old Hippies. Not only did we feel right at home but we fell in love with the store. Susan tried on a leather jacket that felt as soft as melted butter. We were afraid to even look at the price tag. The store was simply full of wonderful things! There were cowboy hats (of course) but other kinds of hats too. These reminded me of the ones my grandfathers wore.

Even the door to the store had character. If you are ever in Nashville I highly recommend a stroll through this store!

The husband and I ate lunch at Martin’s Barbecue and it was delicious. Right across from the Omni Hotel (which is where we stayed and it was awesome). The ribs were so good and the brisket delicious!

My husband and I shared a plate and there was plenty for both of us. Usually he could eat the whole thing but he’d been snacking and wasn’t too hungry.

The view from our room at the Omni was beautiful. Nashville is only two hours from where I live so it makes a great weekend getaway. Have you ever been there? What did you like best about it?

  1. Love the photos and for taking us on a tour of your visit to Nashville. I lived in Hendersonville–a suburb of Nashville, years ago. It was a beautiful city and our particular community was just down the road from June and Johnny Cash’s house on one side and Garth Brooks house on the other side! Fun times!

  2. We went to Nashville for just a couple of day two years ago and we just LOVED it! We went with our three boys and spent a lot of time exploring the Opryland hotel, we went to the adventure science center and to see the Athena Parthenon.

  3. Wow, very cool. Growing up as a kid in the 70’s and 80’s in the SF Bay Area I would love the Hippie Store-So cool.

I have never explored Nashville. I think I need to.

  4. We were hoping to go back to Tennessee and visit Nashville for the first time in September, but can’t afford it right now. Maybe next year we’ll go and eat at Martin’s. Yum!
