Three Time Survivor
This morning I wanted to share a message of hope, cheer and love. My cousin is a 3 time breast cancer survivor. She has endured numerous chemo treatments, nausea, medicines, hair loss, and on and on. She is a fearless warrior and always gives God the credit for seeing her through.
She is also a life long educator. She’s taught in the classroom and is now a reading coach (she retires next year). To say she has touched more than her share of lives would be an understatement. She is a wife, mother, nana, cousin and friend. I couldn’t love her more if I tried.
Martha and one of her three beautiful daughters (Brittany) walked the Making Strides for Breast Cancer walk this week! Aren’t they beautiful?
Wish I Had Said That…
Here are two Eleanor Roosevelt quotes I found that I would like to dedicate to Martha and other survivors.
“A woman is like a tea bag; you never know how strong it is until it’s in hot water.”
“You gain strength, courage and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face. You are able to say to yourself, “I lived through this horror. I can take the next thing that comes along.” You must do the thing you think you cannot do.”
Eleanor Roosevelt, You Learn by Living: Eleven Keys for a More Fulfilling Life
And finally from Proverbs 31….
She is clothed with strength and dignity;
she can laugh at the days to come.
26 She speaks with wisdom,
and faithful instruction is on her tongue.
27 She watches over the affairs of her household
and does not eat the bread of idleness.
28 Her children arise and call her blessed;
her husband also, and he praises her:
29 “Many women do noble things,
but you surpass them all.”
30 Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting;
but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.
31 Honor her for all that her hands have done,
and let her works bring her praise at the city gate.
Martha, you are an awesome woman and I’m so proud of you!
