Reader’s Digest Book-Foods that Harm or Heal
Harmful Foods Healing Foods
Occasionally a book comes along that I want all my family and friends to know about; Foods that Harm-Foods that Heal by Reader’s Digest is such a book.
It’s a great reference book and full of information about all the ways foods harm and heal. This book was first printed in 2004 and was a big hit. Because researchers continue to discover the connections between diet and chronic conditions they updated the book and this is the newest edition.
The table of contents gives you an idea of what is covered in the first section of the book.
The second half of the book is called, An A-Z Guide to Foods that Harm, Foods That Heal (often the same food can do both). This section begins with Acorn Squash and ends with ???? You guessed it, Zucchini! I’m a fan of all kinds of squash and I love zucchini bread (Okay, so maybe zucchini bread isn’t as good for you as just plain zucchini, but I still count it as eating a vegetable. Shhhh, don’t tell the folks at Reader’s Digest!)
The third section of the book is called Ailments: A Condition-by-Condition Guide to What Foods Harm, What Foods Heal. Every ailment from acne to yeast infections is discussed.
I loved the book and think it’s a great reference tool for anyone who wants to eat healthier and feel better. Thank you for the recommendation! Our diet certainly has a big impact on our health, good and bad.
I like cashews the nest. Peanuts are supposedly harder to digest than other nuts.
