Nana’s crew heads home
We crammed a lot of fun and a lot of memories into our last day of vacation. We started the morning with more pastries from The Lighthouse Bakery. Yum, were they good. I asked the lady to send me some recipes but she said that probably won’t happen. Their recipes are secret.
As you can tell not everyone liked the ferry ride.
We arrived in Gulf Shores in time for the Shrimp Fest. The good news is there was tons of great food and lots of booths to visit. The bad news is it was so hot and humid that the smell of so much fried food was not appealing!
Notice the alligator or crocidile (what’s the difference?) Not sure what it has in it’s mouth. We were encouraged by the locals to eat a Cajun Pistol. When I asked what was in it the lady said, “It’s like a party in your mouth.” I ate ice cream instead…too hot.
The ferry ride home was even nicer. It was cooler and Abby wasn’t scared any more.
When we got back home there was a mad dash to the beach and everyone jumped into the ocean to cool off.
Tomorrow we have a long drive ahead of us. We will get home with tons of dirty laundry but lots of happy memories. God is good and blessings abound. This nana can’t wait for her own bed!
