Internet Doctor Visits

What would you think if I told you that I can visit my doctor without going to his office? You would probably wonder how I did that. Let me explain.

My doctor, Dr. William “Chuck” Thornbury, has spent years studying the idea of using electronic doctor visits.

According to Dr. Thornbury these visits are not new. E-visits of one type or another have been around for years. What is different about Dr. Thornbury’s Me-Visit is that it is the first e-visit program offered on mobile phones. Me-Visit takes away the risk of a patient getting unknown medical advice online because it requires each patient to register with a physician within the network. For example in my area code the Me-Visit website shows that four physicians are available for e-visits.

Essentially Me-Visit is a mobile app that allows a patient to visit with his or her own doctor through a smartphone or computer.

Simply stated no matter where I am I can visit Dr. Thornbury. It doesn’t matter if I’m in another state attending my cousin’s wedding, as long as I have my cell phone or computer I can “go to the doctor” without leaving my hotel!

Here are somethings I like about Me-Visits.

* I love the convenience. I can literally go to the doctor while wearing my pajamas without leaving home!

* I save money. It doesn’t cost as much as an office visit.

* If I don’t have to go to the doctor then I’m not exchanging germs with other sick people in the waiting room.
