Day 13-The Ability to Help

“More than nine million people have been affected in the Philippines. Many are now struggling to survive without food, shelter or clean drinking water.” BBC News

Day 13 of 30 Days of Thanks

The Ability to Help

The Philippine death toll continues to rise as rescuers reach remote areas. If you have seen the news you have seen the evidence of the destruction of this storm.

Yesterday my granddaughter was under the weather and as I sat and held her and tried to comfort her I couldn’t keep from thinking about the mothers and grandmothers in the Philippines who lack water, food and medicine for their children.

Aid is on the way but will it get there soon enough? Will there be enough to save those who are teetering on the edge?

I am blessed with a roof over my heads, water to drink, and food to eat. So I want to share with those who don’t. And I’m praying for them that they receive the help they need in time.

Praising God for the ability to help others.

Matthew 25:35-40

New International Version (NIV)

35 For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, 36 I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’

37 “Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? 38 When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? 39 When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’

40 “The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.
