BAM Conference 2016–It’s All About the Tribe

If your snowed in (like I am) and need some positive thoughts to warm you up, then let me tell you why I’m dreaming about BAM in Vegas.

BAM 1

  1. The coolest bloggers in the world will be there. I admit I am prejudiced, but I had no idea when I attended the first conference that I would find so many “Kindred Spirits.” (Yes, that’s an obvious play on my name). Since the conference I have kept in touch with many of my new friends and also some that I didn’t get the chance to meet. You can bet I’ll be looking for those faces at the J W Marriott and hoping to meet the rest of the tribe. There is a spark inside each of them and when we all get together it’s almost like we are one bright shining light in the blogosphere! I know that sounds corny but I promise it’s true. I have never received so much support and kindness from a group of women. It was just Bamtastic.

BAM Conference 152. The cost versus what you get. I know it’s not a small chunk of change to go to a conference, but trust me,  you can’t afford not to go. Before I attended a blogger’s conference I would look at the price of the tickets, travel, and hotel and think I couldn’t afford it. I was wrong. Why? Because after the conference I earned enough in one month to pay for the cost of my ticket! I was also able to write the cost of my trip off on my taxes. Some of you don’t write to make money and that’s fine. Many of us blog for years without making much money. We write because we love it. There are lots of different reasons to write and all of them are compelling, but if you want to make a little money (or a lot of money), then come to BAM and find out how to make that happen.

3. No matter how much or how little you know, you will learn something useful.  We are all at different levels when it comes to writing. Some of us have published books and some of us haven’t but would like to . Some of us have blogs that get huge numbers of unique visitors every month and others have small blogs with smaller audiences. The great thing about BAM is that it doesn’t matter. There will be sessions for those just beginning, as well as those who have been at this for many years.

4. You don’t have to be a certain age or write in a certain niche to benefit from BAM. Just because the conference is hosted by Midlife Bloggers doesn’t mean that all attendees have to be a certain age. I recently attended a mommy blogger conference even though my children are grown it didn’t matter. The name of a conference is more about who is giving it than who can attend it. There will be bloggers from every niche: mommy bloggers, boomer bloggers, food bloggers, lifestyle bloggers and many more. If you let your age define you, you’re missing out. Whatever you write about, there is a place for you at BAM.

5. It’s Vegas. It’s warm and there’s no snow. The J W Marriott will pamper you and entertain you. We have some surprises planned for you that you don’t want to miss and when all is said and done you will go home glowing so much that people might assume you are pregnant (or not). You will radiate happiness from the vibe of the tribe.

Invite your friends to come share in what you know will be the best blogging conference this year! To those of you are teetering on the edge and thinking you might come or you might not, ask someone who was there last year if it was worth the trip or not. I would be very surprised if you didn’t get a resounding “YES!”

  2. This is perfect for anyone sitting on the fence! I’m waaaay past midlife, have no niche, nor big numbers nor a book in progress, but I’m going because of this TRiBE! I know it will be great fun and I’ll learn so much, be inspired and awed by these talented women and leave feeling both accomplished and empowered! Well done, Ms Kindred Spirit!
