Thanksgiving Scarecrow Craft and Time to Celebrate
Thanksgiving scarecrow and pumpkin crafts are fun to make this time of year. I’ll tell you about them in a minute, but first I have to ask….why can’t there be three days in a weekend? I crammed so much into two days that I’m really wishing for a third day to the weekend! We took the littles (all but one) to see the oldest granddaughter in Shrek the musical. We loved it and the littles thought our granddaughter was the star of the show! Guess we are all a little prejudiced! As anyone who has ever tried to make a photo of several children they will never all look at you and smile at the same time. I tried several times but this was the best I could do!
Then on Sunday morning we finished up Thanksgiving crafts for our big dinner later in the day. All the children worked so hard on their decorations. They were allowed to choose between making a pumpkin or a scarecrow and the majority chose scarecrows.
At first the pumpkins didn’t look so good, but once they were stuffed really full they turned out pretty!
To keep the little ones busy after they finished their craft, they strung beads. They loved it and it kept them still.
It was finally time for the big meal and to keep them busy while we got the food ready they colored on the table cloth (or their napkins). They were so good!
Before we said the Blessing and enjoyed the food the little ones sang church songs. You can see their crafts hanging on the cabinet doors. Some made scarecrows and some pumpkins. They were made with popsicle sticks they painted.
The food was wonderful and the desserts divine! I had pecan pie but there were lots of choices. This is one of our favorite events at our church. Does your church do a Thanksgiving Dinner?
This is a close up of one of the scarecrows the children made out of painted popsicle sticks and some other craft supplies. I take no credit for anything other than taking a baked ham and eating the delicious food and making pictures. We have some very talented ladies at our church who are great when it comes to crafts, decorating and cooking!
This is a #Bloghop I do hope you will link up and join the fun!
