Twas the Week After Christmas
Twas the week after Christmas and all through the house
I couldn’t see the floor for the mess…
Nor could my spouse.
Thank goodness Christmas
Only comes once a year
The older I get
The more back pain I fear.
The cleaning, the cooking
Decorating and wrapping.
My neck and back feel
Like they are snapping.
If I work very hard
And I clean and I mop
I might see my floors again by New Year’s Day
And then again,
I might not!
The amazing thing about Christmas
Is how fast it’s done
Mom’s and nanas work for weeks
For one day of fun.
The guests are all gone.
The house is a sight.
But it was a Merry Christmas for all
And a very good night!
Congratulations to Joyce Tilton who was one of the winners of the NanaHood sweatshirt! She sent me a picture and I love it!
Thanks and love ya!
Sounds like so much fun, Susan! Happy New Year!
Amen! After all the shopping and wrapping were done, my husband and I still spent two days cleaning, setting up tables and cooking for our 21 guests. Then I had from 4-7 grandchildren for the next two days. Now we are going to take a day off before we dismantle the Christmas decorations and get ready for our New Year’s party! But we love it. We are blessed with great family members and friends. I can’t imagine doing the holidays any other way.
Cute!
