Skype Cousins

Cousins are special. I was blessed with nine cousins on my father’s side of the family and three on my mother’s side. Now that I am a nana I love watching my granddaughters interact with one another. Recently the older one had a cold and the younger one had a stomach bug. We kept them apart but they enjoyed seeing each other on Skype. If you live away from your grandchildren or children you know that Skype is the next best thing to being together. The two pictures of them on the left are them “Skyping.”

Picture on the right was made earlier. I think you can tell they are crazy about each other!

The youngest granddaughter can’t talk yet but she sure does squeal when she sees her cousin!

Do you have family members you Skype with?

So sorry, Skype cousins huh? Isn’t technology wonderful! If it wasn’t for skye I wouldn’t see my DAughter & her family, but once a year. I have an adorable Grandson and my youngest & great son-in-law that lives in Missouri so we use Skype to talk and see each other. Sometimes we even use it to see my other grandkids that live about 45 minutes away too. Yes, technology is wonderful.

We love Skype! We’re in Ontario and my Mom, Stepdad, Brother & his family are all in PEI. We use Skype regularly with them. It’s such a beautiful way of being able to stay in touch.

My family all lives close by, so we don’t have to Skype 🙂

I came back to answer your question (left on my blog), nope…the romance never lasted. She went off to college and he was in his last year of high school. Whew, that was a hard one, watching him mope around when she dumped him. I’d forgotten all about that. Only time I’ve ever seen that child sleep during they day (well since he’s been big anyway). Young love can be tough stuff.

Couldn’t agree more. I each of my parents had like 9 or 10 brothers and sisters, so I was blessed with TONS of cousins. I was close to several of them. My kids are equally blessed in the cousins department since I have 3 siblings and hubby has 6 =)

THIS is why I love the invention of Skype! My little boy talks to my best friends little boy in Belgium who he has never met before, but they play and interact just the same as if they have known each other for years and are in the same very room 🙂

I don’t, but it sure looks like fun!

I totally understand. Looking down at my cellphone and face timing someone convinced me that I should NEVER do that again!

Isn’t Skype great? The godmother to my nephew was able to attend the service through Skype this year. Amazing how technology can keep us all together.

  43. February 12, 2013 / 11:14 am

Skype is such an amazing tool. I live 14 hours away from family and friends and use it often.

  44. February 12, 2013 / 11:06 am

So cute!! My daughter has a friend that moved away, she always facetime’s her. Love that technology allows them to visit face to face, even across distance!

Love it! We skype with grandparents all the time – it’s a great way for them to see the kids grow. We even have skype breakfast together.
