Ribbons….For Boys?

Faithfully Fun Fridays with Tiffany

I noticed something when I started to make so many cute things for my little daughter; my sons were terribly interested in what I was creating! They were always asking me to make something for them as well. But a hair clip… for a boy? That just wasn’t going to happen. Did you know that in the 18th century hair bows were worn by boys? Still, I really could not picture hair bows on my sons and neither could their daddy!

What could I do? Wasn’t ribbon, anything made with ribbons, for little girls now? Not necessarily! I found out that ribbons can work for boys too, just not for their hair! I started making other items out of ribbon, boy themed items. It all started with Superman! My boys are all about superheroes, and loved it! I made them each Superman zipper pulls for there backpacks.

That got me thinking, what else could I made that a little boy would like? Zipper pulls for jackets or back packs, magnets, and even pins they could wear! They loved this idea and started helping me with ideas for things they wanted. So far I have added a dinosaur and an army man or hunter. They loved the idea that these are for boys.

Ribbon isn’t just for girls! I plan on expanding my ribbon craft area for boys very soon and will be sure and keep everyone posted with new products.

What would a little boy in your life like to have? I would be very interested to find out! Leave a comment with your suggestions! You just may see it on a future post!

Have a great weekend!

  1. How very creative! I want to share this idea with my daughter, who has a 2yr. old son. What about Lightning McQueen, from Cars?
