Ho Ho Ho Weekend

Ho Ho Ho Weekend

My mother was a Christmas fanatic. She could shop until she dropped and then get up and do it again the next day. Nothing was ever too much for her. The brighter the decorations, the bigger the tree, the more food and presents….the better. Oh, how I miss those days of my childhood! My brother and I waking up on Christmas morning and running into the living room to find tons of presents beneath our very big (but slightly tacky) tree. My mother was Christmas at our house and after her death in 1991 it has never been the same…but it has been good.

I am grateful for my 5 beautiful children who grew into fine young men and women, and for the 6 grandchildren they have given me (so far..lol). And I enjoy every minute with them. I just can’t help but wish my mom and dad could be here with me to show them how Christmas is really done! I know it’s not official but I’m pretty sure Santa Clause gave my mom the  “Best Mom at Christmas Award” year after year.

My grandchildren are not slighted. Their mom’s do a great job at making sure they don’t miss out on Christmas fun.

This event was called Cookies with Santa and these two had a private chat with Old Saint Nick. The one sitting closest to him has no fear and was brought in as reinforcements for Granddaughter number 2 who wasn’t so sure that Santa was a good guy.

Here are my sweeties picking out a treat. It was a tough choice but they finally made a decision.

Loved watching them giggle and have fun. The three musketeers riding in Santa’s Sleigh. It just doesn’t get much better than this (except when all the grands are together).

I included this one just because this is Poppa chilling on a Sunday afternoon, in front of the tree with his faithful dog Bella laying on his head. That’s right, she loves being on the top of the couch and it looks like she’s literally on top of his head!

As if Cookies with Santa wasn’t enough, there was also a Christmas Parade this weekend.

I think they had a great weekend, don’t you? I know I did. Just getting to be around them and watching their parents take care of them and guide them is such a blessing. Grandchildren are pure joy! #blessed

It was a Ho Ho Ho Weekend and I loved it!
