Big News at NanaHood

Last week I promised you some big news and here it is! NanaHood is going to partner with an online magazine written specifically for grandparents. What follows is a press release about the partnership.

Christine Crosby, Founder and Publisher of GRAND – The Online Magazine for GRANDparents, and Teresa Bell Kindred, Founder of NanaHood, are proud to announce a partnership that will connect GRAND and NanaHood.  This partnership will allow Kindred and NanaHood to appear daily on the GRAND.com (www.grandmagazine.com) homepage, with fresh relevant grandparenting content every day,  while at the same time expanding GRAND’s and NanaHood’s online community of grandparents.  These two organizations are united in the common goals of keeping grandparents entertained and informed about important issues that affect them, their children and grandchildren.

NanaHood premiered online in late August of 2009. “I have always loved to write,” says Kindred, “so blogging comes very easily to me.” When asked where the term NanaHood comes from Kindred explains, “I am the mom of five children. The youngest (identical twin boys who are eighteen) are almost grown. When my granddaughter was born I realized I had moved into NanaHood: the second half of the motherhood journey.  I am passionate about writing, parenting and now grandparenting, so NanaHood is a natural progression.”

“After just a few months of blogging at NanaHood my web designer and friend, Char Huskins and I decided that other grandparents (and parents) would enjoy blogging too, so we added a sister site called The Nana Blogs (www.thenanablogs.com) There’s no charge for this service and Char created a step by step tutorial that makes creating a blog so easy anyone can do it.”

GRAND Magazine was launched in 2004 as a print magazine to celebrate the exciting life stage of being a grandparent. GRAND “went green” in 2008 with the launch of GRAND – The Online Magazine for GRANDparents.  Without the consumption of trees, oil, gas or ink, GRAND is now available to cyber-savvy grandparents around the world. “GRAND and NamaHood.com are a perfect compliment to each other and we expect this to be a very grand relationship.” says Christine Crosby.

“Every day more and more grandparents are going online, blogging and participating in social networking.  I am so very honored to be allowed to share NanaHood with GRAND and its readers! This is a great opportunity for NanaHood and I really appreciate Christine and the folks at GRAND who are making this possible,” says Kindred.

So isn’t this exciting news! Check out the magazine and let me know what you think. There’s no cost to look at the current issue and if you decide to subscribe it’s under ten dollars for a two year subscription. That’s what I call a bargain.

NanaHood isn’t changing. It’s just going to be seen by more people in more places, which means more Nana Power!
