Every Day May Not Be Good, But There is Good in Every Day
Breast Cancer Awareness
These words take on special meaning when I think about the decades long battle Martha had with breast cancer. Every day was not easy and there were days when the road ahead seemed uncertain. But Martha had something she leaned on: her Christian faith.

Today is the anniversary of her death. It’s been 11 years since we had to say goodbye. Not a day goes by that I don’t wish I could call her, hear her laugh, or hug her. She was more than a friend. She was a cousin and a childhood playmate with whom I shared a lifetime of memories. I have written about her for years and I will continue to make sure her memory lives on. Here’s a post I wrote a few years ago about her.
. https://nanahood.com/missing-marthaOctober is a hard month for so many folks who are connected to breast cancer. Martha left behind a husband, 3 lovely daughters and a slew of grandchildren. This year she added her first great-grandchild who is named in her honor, Martha Grace.
I have written about Martha numerous times over the years. She influenced so many lives. I want to remember more than the disease that took her life. I want to remember her faith, her spirit, her courage and the words she left behind.
Every day may not be good, but there is good in every day.
The following clip was made on our way to her brain radiation. The Aunt Kate she mentions is gone now too. They both held pieces of my heart that they took with them. Both of them were amazing women.
