A Weird Tale of Teabags and Tennis Shoes

A Weird Tale (Yes, it is true)

I remember hearing my daughter talk about pregnancy brain and how there were days she operated in a fog. Recently I decided I have “nana brain” and every day looks like the final scene in Gone With the Wind where Rhett is leaving Scarlett amidst a thick fog.

As I mentioned before I have plantar fasciitis in my right foot. I have bought tennis shoes with lots of arch support and have been wearing them faithfully and the pain is nearly gone. The first pair of shoes I purchased did not help, so I bought a second pair. Saturday I went to my sister-in-laws for a bridal shower and a baby shower. Nobody throws a party like she does. There is always tons of food and fun at her house.

After I got home from the shower I was walking through the house and I couldn’t figure out why one leg felt shorter than the other. I had noticed it earlier but didn’t take the time to see what was the matter. As you have probably guessed by now in my haste to get out the door I had on two different tennis shoes; one with arch support and one without.

I’d like to tell you that I have never done this before but I won’t lie. When I was teaching and I had to get 5 kids to school and then go to work at the high school it happened more than once. And, when the twins were little I would put two left shoes on one and two right on the other. For years when they were young they referred to tissue as tennis shoes, which made for interesting conversation when they asked someone who didn’t know them well for a tennis shoe when they had a runny nose.

Another Weird Tale

Did you know tea bags grow on trees? They do at my house. I was walking through the yard when I noticed tea bags hanging in my dogwood tree. At first I was puzzled but then I had a vague memory of one of my granddaughters telling me she had made tea. I hadn’t thought about what she did with the tea bags she didn’t use….now I know.

I brought the tea bags inside and made a mental note to listen more closely when she tells me she made something.

If I could only get money to grow on my tree instead of tea bags!
