Yard Sale, Tag Sale, Garage Sale ????

What do you call it? Around here we call it “Yard Sales.”  Usually they are on Friday and Saturday and there are more at the first of the month than at the end of the month. Whatever you call it, there is a really big one going on in this area. 400 miles of sales in 4 days. That’s right…on Hwy 68-80 for as far as the eye can see, people have wagons and tables parked in their front yards and loaded with bargains.

I have never seen so much stuff!

However, the miles and miles of yard sales produce a problem. Crazy, dangerous traffic!

Well, okay….maybe it isn’t this bad but it is dangerous.

People pull in, look to see if they like anything and if they don’t they pull back out and sometimes they don’t bother to look and see if anyone is coming. It’s like driving through the Indy 500 on a two lane country road.

So if you want to go to the 400 mile yard sale put on your helmet and shoulder pads, wear your seatbelt and watch out for the other drivers. It’s dangerous out there!

    Around here we call them “rummage sales”, and I don’t go to nearly enough.

  4. Hi! Visiting from Java’s Follow Friday. I call them yard sales and I love them! Love them so much in fact that I’ve had to ban myself from them till I get some projects done and find homes for the stuff I’ve already got! Maybe I need to have my own yard sale–but that would mean getting rid of things–and I’m not sure I can do that.
