Covid-4 Reasons Why Many People Should Still Be Concerned
If you think Covid is nothing more than a cold, think again.
(Reason 1) Did you know that in the first 5 months of this year there were 37,000 deaths from Covid?
(Reason 2) Scientists estimate approximately 100,000 people will die every year from Covid.
(Reason 3) The disease keeps finding new ways to evolve into subvariants.
(Reason 4) More than 90% of Covid deaths are people 65 and older.
For many people, Covid isn’t over.
2020 Was Where Our Story Began
In 2020 when the Pandemic was new, Bill had just been diagnosed with a serious autoimmune disorder. Most of you know what happened but if you don’t you can read about our Covid Journey here. I know that because of what I experienced with Bill that I am much more sensitive to what can happen if he were to get it again. We do our best to protect him by not being in crowded places, but he is still high on the at-risk list.
And he is not alone.
There are so many Americans over 65 who have health issues and who don’t need or want the complications of Covid. If you or someone you know does contract it, please, please stay home.
Doctors and hospitals are better prepared now than they were in 2020-21. There are new medicines and medical advances that allow hope for many.

Lights On
When Covid first started in 2020 our Governor, Andy Beshear, encouraged everyone to put green lights outside. We replaced 3 outside lights outside our garage with green lights and they are still shining brightly to this day.
When you think of Covid and if you were to contract it, please think of your friends and neighbors who are at high risk. Covid isn’t over for us and it may never be.
Until it’s over….we will be like Motel 6 and leave the light on to remind you.
(In Kentucky our governor asked us to use green porch lights when the Pandemic started)
