What Do You Know About Chipmunks?

Truthfully, not much. But I know more know than I did, and the reason is because I just finished reading Chippy Chipmunk: Babies in the Garden by Kathy M. Miller.

I love reading to my GRAND daughter and now that Abby can read, she loves reading to me. This book is definitely worth searching out in the book store or on Amazon.

Why?

Because of the beautiful photography and the cute story, of course! The story is about four baby chipmunks and it offers pictures of real live baby chipmunks learning and playing through their first days out of the burrow. Perfect for younger children, nature lovers, and animal enthusiasts, there are over 80 photos of all sorts of animals that the chipmunk s meet.

I live in the country but my closest encounter with a chipmunk is when I’ve spotted one skittering off into the woods. This book offers a close up look at what they do as they play and explore. They are adorable.

My GRANDdaughter loves the Alvin and the Chipmunk videos, but I don’t (their singing reminds me of finger nails on a chalkboard). When this book arrived for me to review I was a little less than enthusiastic. I am proud to report that not all chipmunks are as annoying as Alvin and his siblings. In fact, these are down right precious!

  1. Would love this book, my grandbaby is 14 months old and loves to be read to. He picks up his book and brings them to us to read to him all throughout the day!

  2. I have always loved the chipmucks, way back when brad was a baby. When we would go camping we would sometimes be able to watch them playing in the campsite, they are so cute. I would love to have one for myself for a pet. I have already reading and movies to Thomas. He loves wildlife and outdoors. I would love to read this book. Thanks Teresa for all you good advise.

  3. I will check out Chippy Chipmunk. We have the opportunity to watch them play at my aunt’s house in Connecticut. They are so much fun to watch. When Nick was little (3 or 4) he came running the house and told me we had a tigger in the flower bed. I was a little concerned thinking about Tigger the tiger from Winnie the Pooh. It turned out to be a chipmunk. We still laugh about the tigger in the flowers.
