Thursday Thoughts About Going To The Movies

I have always enjoyed going to the movies. The theater I went to when I was a young child had clouds and stars painted on the ceiling and I distinctly remember thinking that it was the most magical place in the world. It was called The Plaza Theater and it’s where I first met Scarlett and Rhett and where Moses received the Ten Commandments. It’s where I fell in love with Elvis and first met James Bond.

As I got older I still enjoyed going to the movies but when we had children (5) I ran out of the two things that movies require: time and money. Now that I am a Nana I love taking my granddaughter to see animated films, but my husband and I rarely go.  It’s just easier to stay home and rent a movie.

A Movie Worth Going To See

Remember a few weeks ago when I hosted the giveaway for tickets to Parental Guidance with Billy Crystal and Bette Midler?  I thought it sounded like a good movie…now I have proof! My cousin didn’t win the tickets from my giveaway but she went to the movie and this is what she had to say about it….

“Parental Guidance is the best movie I’ve seen in a looooong time! Went with mother and my brother’s family and all ages enjoyed it!! It’s a must see funny movie.”

Now I know that Martha isn’t a professional movie reviewer, but she’s a gal after my own heart and I’m betting that if she liked it, so will I. Planning on going this weekend sometime.

How about you?

  1. I rarely will see a movie twice, but I will see this one again… if you are a young parent who has different views of raising your children than your parents, or if you are a grandparent watching your children raise their children, you will relate to this!
