Bloggers from Around the World
Hi everyone,
I’m Dominique, an elementary school teacher and mom of three from Singapore. I blog at Dominique’s Desk.  Over at the blog you can read about my  experiences  in education and parenting while pursuing my passions in cooking, baking and photography. Being a full-time mom I am currently on No pay leave while I take care of the kids and household.
Staying in a fast paced metropolitan city with a current population of 5.3 million this island country is certainly very densely populated. More than 90% of the residents stay  in high-rise buildings in this tropical country. Our nation is located near the equator and as so it is hot and humid the whole year round. Temperatures here range from 26 Degrees Celsius to 34 Degrees Celsius on an average day.

Life in Singapore

I have been living in Singapore for most of my life. My three kids, Monkey boy (9 years old), Doggie boy ( 6 years old) and Tiger girl (2 years old)  were all born in Singapore too and are currently studying here too.

I’ve been blogging for more then ten years but only took blogging more seriously  since the kids were born as I found it an excellent way to document their growth and achievements for the whole family to see. The blog would also serve as a place where they could revisit and read about their childhood in time to come.

I’ve been actively blogging here on Dominique’s Desk since 2007 and prior to that had been blogging on various blogging platform like blogger, WordPress and live journal.  It has been a fun  and exciting journey building up my presence as a blogger and reaching out and befriending many different bloggers all around the world.

From my tiny corner over here in Singapore I have  made many online friends from USA, Canada, Philippines and practically all around the world.  Writing has always been a passion of mine and I am glad that I am able to pursue this passion of mine while getting connected to others all around the world.

Through the blog I too have been able to  make many connections with various companies both local and international and got to sample/review many different products which have enriched the lives  our family. The kids have gotten to visit many different places and try out various gadgets/ items which would have not been possible without the presence of the blog.

The blog too has been a platform for me to combine my passions of writing, photography and food all rolled into one. It too has given me the flexibility of  having the time to be there to coach the kids and take care of their needs while earning income as a professional blogger and  blogging consultant.

I am happy that I have the time and opportunity to pursue my passions while at the same time being able to be there for the family.  I am able to give the kids the best support that they need and guidance which they need to develop into well balanced adults.
