The Very Best Thing About Being a Grandparent

If you asked me what the very best thing about being a grandparent is….I would have to think about it carefully before I answered.

It’s fun to get to meet their friends.

I love hearing her talk and tell stories.

She's never at a loss for words.

It’s great watching her play with my friend’s grandchildren.

But if I had to pick just ONE thing I would have to say….

It’s the hugs.

Happy National Grandparent’s Day. It’s truly GRAND to be a grandparent!

Now I have a question for you….if you have a heart for children would you read yesterday’s post  about Children, Gangs and Poverty and consider sponsoring a child through Compassion?  Maybe in honor of your child or grandchild? Or maybe just because you want to make a difference in the life of a child?

Some where in the world there is a child who needs you. I challenge you to click on the Compassion Bloggers in Guatemala button on my site (right hand side of page, scroll down) and read their stories. Please consider helping these children….they need us!

  1. You’re right about the hugs. I look forward to my grandchildren running to hug me when they visit me or I visit them. The older ones have to be coaxed now but they still give me good “bear” hugs.

I love a hug! Thanks for commenting!

  3. I so agree with you. When I read your title, the first thing that popped into my head was grandkid hugs and kisses – from them and to them. 🙂 They are such a blessed gift from God. 🙂
