My Thursday started with an F20. No, that is not a SUPER tornado. It’s the code on my front loading washer, the one that goes 24/7 at my house. When the washer stopped working a light flashed across the control panel saying “F20.” I called the repairman and he just happened to be in the neighborhood.
“So what is an F20?” I asked.
“Water isn’t going through the blah, blah, blah…” he said.
He didn’t really say blah, blah, blah but I didn’t understand and didn’t really want to know. I just wanted it fixed.
Which brings me to my next random thing….
For the past month the battery in my SUV has been dying on a random (tired of that word yet?) basis. Then the power steering seemed a little off. Then the radio quit and the door lock decided to only work periodically. I’ve been just dealing with it, but it was getting annoying. The strange part was I have a fairly new SUV and it tells me when something is wrong (it has a control panel just like the washer). A light appears on my dashboard if the motor has a problem. A warning flashes if I forget to change my oil. Not enough air in the tires….there’s a light for that too! But of all the things I just mentioned that have stopped working on my SUV recently, not a single light or warning! Go figure.
So today when I was talking to the washing machine man I told him about my SUV and he said washing machines are like that too. He said he’s worked on several that the code says one thing but it’s really something else. Or the code will pop up for several things, but the most basic things (like when the element goes out on a drier) there is no code. Makes you wonder, doesn’t it? Maybe digital isn’t always the way to go.
It also makes me wonder what is going to tear up next….scary thought.
On to the Random Contest….
For awhile I’ve been wanting to learn more about Rafflecopter. This morning I decided to read about it and host a giveaway. You, dear readers, deserve it. So I’m hosting a You Deserve It contest and the winner will receive a NanaHood Gift Basket. I’ll include a NanaHood tee, some items from the Zazzle store, and a few of my books! I wish I could open it up for everyone but the last time I did that I ended up mailing something overseas and it was expensive. So if you live across the pond you can enter only if you are willing to pay the postage!
Here’s how you win….
