Prayers for a Friend’s Aching Heart

If you visit NanaHood often you know that my cousin Martha is a 3 time breast cancer survivor. You also know that I have way too many friends who have fought breast cancer. This morning a very good friend, Char (she’s my NanaHood tech support partner), lost her mother-in-law to breast cancer. I am so sorry, Char! I love you and am praying for you and your family!

I can’t say it enough….I HATE CANCER!

This morning I renewed my membership with Susan G. Komen’s Passionately Pink organization. My team name is NanaHood Friends and Family. Last year we raised almost $2,000 and this year I would love to double that amount!

Cousin Martha and her friends at a Relay for Life event.

Just in case you’ve ever wondered how funds are used….

Susan G. Komen is accredited by the Better Business Bureau Wise Giving Alliance, and have been rated a four-star charity by Charity Navigator for the past six years.

All Passionately Pink donations help support Komen’s breast cancer research initiatives.  And, just as importantly Passionately Pink donations are shared with our network of local Affiliates to help provide life-saving education, screening and treatment programs at the community level.

Please join the NanaHood Friends and Family team again this year as we do our best to wipe out breast cancer!

  1. Hi Margaret, I understand your feelings and while I don’t agree with abortion either after I researched all organizations that fund breast cancer research I decided that the Komen Foundation is one of the better ones as far as how much money actually goes to research. Thanks for commenting!

  2. I hate cancer too. I know how passionate you are about raising money to fight it.I always thought that if you gave money to fight cancer, that is what the money was used for. But I stopped giving to Komen foundation when I learned that they give money to Planned Parenthood(it was in the news). Raising money to fight cancer is good but not to a group that gives money to fund abortions.

  3. I HATE cancer, too! I participate in our local Relay For Life each year and my team raises more than $13,000 annually. We are praying for a cure! I am so sorry to hear about your cousin and your friend. Cancer must be stopped!
    Hugs, GraceinAZ
