Passionately Pink for a Cure

Remember last week I asked you to take the NanaHood pledge? If you don’t remember you can read about it here.

Well I decided to go ahead and try my first batch of “Cupcakes for a Cure.”

I did half chocolate and half vanilla. The icing is made from cream cheese, powdered sugar, butter and vanilla, with just enough red food coloring to turn them pink. I had to test one of course, just to make sure they were okay.

And they were. I sold them all (except the ones my boys ate when they thought I wasn’t looking).

One batch down and a few more to go.

We’re getting closer to October and Breast Cancer Awareness month. So be telling your friends and relatives and if someone you love has breast cancer or is a survivor, take the NanaHood Pledge and be a part of our team. Let’s help Susan G. Komen wipe out breast cancer forever! I’m Passionately Pink for a Cure. Are you?

    Sure. Here you go!

    * 2 (8 ounce) packages cream cheese, softened
    * 1/2 cup butter, softened
    * 2 cups sifted confectioners’ sugar
    * 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

    1. In a medium bowl, cream together the cream cheese and butter until creamy. Mix in the vanilla, then gradually stir in the confectioners’ sugar. Store in the refrigerator after use.
