No Guys Allowed

Right after college I moved to Atlanta with some girlfriends. I met a Michigan boy (aka Bill) got married and moved back to Kentucky, but my girlfriends stayed in Atlanta. Trying to get together with them is like trying to schedule a rocket  launch: it takes a ton of planning and has to start months in advance.

One of my Atlanta friends is a flight attendant. For the last 30 years she has traveled the world. Another gal is food rep and she travels with her work too. The third friend who lives there is a nurse on a college campus.

It’s so hard to find time to get together that we haven’t seen each other for awhile and I miss them like crazy so I am DETERMINED to find a weekend we can spend together…no guys allowed.

Right now it’s looking like October. That’s a long time to wait but it’s the best we can do. I miss hanging with my girls. When we were younger I couldn’t imagine not having them in my life 24/7. Then we got married. Had families and responsibilities kept us apart.

One of my best buddies, Martha (aka soul sister) is coming for a short visit in a couple of weeks and I can’t wait. Girl time rejuvenates me! Nothing against my guys. I love them dearly but I sure do miss my friends.

Isn’t everyone called ‘guys’ these days. We’re going to need a new one for just men or just women. How bout no dawgs?
