New Year New Phone

I got a new iPhone 7 Plus last week and my son (who already has one) told me I would love the camera. He was right. I had an iPhone 6 Plus and liked it, but there is a definite improvement in the quality of the photos. As far as other differences between my old phone and this one, another good thing is it’s water proof. The old iPhone was pretty resistant to getting splashed, but now the iPhone 7 Plus is specifically designed to handle full submersion for up to 30 minutes. So that means if I drop it in the toilet (yes, I did that) if I get it out quickly it should be okay. Hoping not to go there.

This is the daughter of some friends from church. Isn’t she adorable? And she has a baby sister who is just as cute! If you notice in this picture the background is blurred. I put the camera on “portrait” and it focuses on her and blurs the background.

According to an article I read on Forbes, “the biggest change is the dual camera (wide angle and telephoto lenses) on the rear of the iPhone 7 Plus. This combination offers users a 2x optical zoom for the first time (and an improved digital zoom up to 10x) while the larger aperture and enhanced LED flash will allow for significantly better photos in low light. Even the iPhone 7 only has a single rear camera.”

Do I know how to use all that power yet? No, but I’m enjoying taking pictures and videos and learning. I love my new phone and like the Plus size because it’s easier to see and use. This phone is also louder because it has more speakers.

Hope you had a great week! Please link up and leave a comment!

  1. Teresa,

DH & I each have iPhone5s. They are remarkable old phones but the newer iPhones are amazing! We hope ours continue to hold up until the next generation hit the market. We like the smaller size better and we’re hoping Apple will put the iPhone7plus cameras in a smaller version next time. Two optical cameras in the iPhone is incredible and it does a fantastic job as proof with your images above. Thanks for sharing and for the visit! 😉

  2. Clare, so nice to hear from you! Do search to see if your phone does. That’s a fun way to snap pictures. Phones are just so easy to use and they do keep getting better. Thanks for writing and for being a NanaHood friend!

  7. I’m excited for BOTH of us, because I just got an iPhone 7+ myself!! It’s my first cell phone, so I’m WAY behind the learning curve…but, so far, I love it!! The quality of your photos are incredible! I also got mine because I recently had to get hearing aids, and the iPhone 7+ has an app that will let all calls go right into my hearing aids!! Pretty awesome, huh?!! I’ve taken some great pictures…all I have to do now is figure out how to put them on Facebook!!! 😉

  11. I’d really like a better camera on a phone but I’m not going to spend what they cost and work my camera on my phone as I work my digital camera. I wind up taking camera with me alot of places I go. I’m not an iphone person. Your photos look nice. Enjoy!
