NanaHood Mother’s Day Celebration

Nanas were moms long before they were nanas, so when I saw the Mother’s Day Contest advertised on my friends blog (5Minutesfor mom.com) I decided to have my own contest. Why? Because all moms are Super Moms….

Motherhood can be challenging at times….

But it’s still the most rewarding job I ever had…..until I became a Nana!

Now I have the best of both worlds. I’m still a mom but my children have to do all the work!

The Contest

The winner will select a prize (or prizes up to $40 in value) from the NanaHood Store (http://www.zazzle.com/nanahood)  Open to U.S. and Canadian residents only.

The contest will run until May 4th. We will announce our winners on Sunday morning May 6th, so that you can get your prize before Mother’s Day on May 13th.

  1. I love having all the love – the reason to get up in the mornings – I know it’s a gift. I was given 5 years to live 12 years ago – you never take a moment of it for granted.

  2. The best part of being a Mom is watching my children raise their children: to be the same God-fearing, hard-working, kind, caring, giving & smart . When my children were growing up, I worried a LOT about how they would turn out and if they would be “OK”…I do not worry about that any longer!! They are all happy, successful, loving, caring Christians. When they were younger, I truly did not believe I could ever feel any greater love…until they blessed me with grandchildren…SEVEN!!! The love you feel for your children is deep- down, pure love…but, the sheer joy I have for my grandchildren is simply indescribable…I have been rediscovering all the small things in life! My children and grandchildren are two of God’s greatest gifts! <3

  3. I love it. I have always wanted to be a mother. Its just a wonderful blessing from God and having my first Grandchild… wow its beyond discription at this time. 😉

  4. Nana: THE BEST! Unconditional love to 4 beautiful grandchildren, and they all love unconditionally. The Joy and laughter they bring to our lives far outweighs any other achievement.

  5. I am both a Mom and a Nana… The sad part is I only have one son and one daughter but the BEST about being a NANA is that there are SEVEN! Two boys and five girls! I always wanted more children but that was not possible but my daughter has five children and she said she is glad she could give me such an amazing gift!
What I LOVED BEST about being a MOM is that I have two amazing children. What I LOVE BEST about being a NANA is that my G-Babies love me no matter what!

  6. My kids are my life! I just hope they know how much I love them and hold them dear to my heart…. I love you Latisha and Daniel!!

  7. I love being a mom because you finally realize what unconditional love really means. I love watching my son grow and teaching him about life and the wonders of the world. He is an amazing little man and I am so very proud of him.

  8. I have two grown children. My daughter is the oldest and our son is four years younger. I loved being a Mom but when I became a Nana six months ago a whole new world opened up for me. I love seeing Kinsey experience new things and the joy she brings is just over the top. I am truly blessed!

  9. Knowing that my 6 adult children are thriving, successful individuals makes me one happy Mama. Hugging and playing with my 4 grandchildren is pure joy.

  10. It is gratifying to know that even though I thought I was messing up constantly, my 3 children have grown up to be good people. I have 1 grandchild so far who is the light of my life. One of my children is currently trying to adopt 2 little boys they are fostering. I call them my prospective grandchildren! 🙂 My life and my heart are very full.

  11. The love that grandchildren give is like nothing else. They don’t judge they just love!

  12. I loved being a stay at home mom with my four children. I especially enjoyed the blessing of being able to be involved as a volunteer in their classrooms on a regular basis. As they have become adults I find great joy in seeing them develop and share their talents and interests and in all they do to contribute to their families, community and church.

Being a grandma is the best! My grown children have given me 10 to date! I love planning and having special events with just the grands to build unity among the cousins and close bonds with papa and I.

  13. i am a mom to 3 daughters…and ” gramma “to a beautiful almost 5-year old granddaughter and to try to pinpoint what i love best about being either would be close to impossible! motherhood isn’t for everyone, but i knew from the time i was a little girl that all i ever wanted to be when i grew up was a mommy. i am part of a large family with 8 brothers and sisters so i was quite prepared for a lot of the details involved~~~yet none of us can ever be prepared for the surprises that come from being a mom.
the only way i can explain what i like best about being a mom/gramma, is to say that it taught me what love is–real and unconditional love. i think that is the one of those things that most mothers have over any other human being on earth~~~a sense of deep love that only a mother can understand.

  14. Being a Mom has been a gift. It has allowed me the privledge of participating in the lives of three amazing people who have grown to become adults who are loving, giving and responsible people. My Nanahood experience has taken my love to an entirely new level. As a Nana I see and appreciate so many small things that the grands do – from crawling, to walking to throwing a ball, playing with dolls, having snowball fights, seeing Marching bands -and this list could go on and on. My life is full of joy because amazing children call me Nana.
