Making Magic With Marie Callender’s Apple Pie

One of my favorite things about the holidays is being with family and sharing the foods that we all love. As a child I didn’t realize the importance food played in making memories, but now I do. All families have their personal favorites and at our house we love desserts.

My oldest granddaughter, Abby, is a big help in the kitchen so when I told her we were going to make a Marie Callender’s magic apple pie she was enthralled.

“How do you make a magic apple pie?” she asked.

How To Make Magic

“Cooking for a lot of people can be stressful but when it comes to baking we don’t have to make every dish from scratch. We can just add our own personal touches to a Marie Callender’s pie. And when it’s easy but tastes great that makes it a magic pie,” I answered.

At our house, desserts are key…especially pie. But, they are also time-consuming. That’s why frozen brands like Marie Callender’s are a great choice because they smell, taste and look just like homemade. I have been a fan of Marie Callender’s pies for many years. One reason is because they use high-quality ingredients and signature special touches to create meals and desserts that smell, taste and look just like homemade so that your family can slow down and savor together. It tastes great and is less work. You just can’t beat that!

Marie Callender’s pies are made with special touches like hand-pulled lattice and hand-placed chocolate curls to help make them look just like homemade. Our Dutch Apple pie had thick, juicy apple slices and smelled divine while baking in my oven. After it baked 55 minutes then Abby added the crumble mixture pictured above and we baked an additional ten minutes. While it was finishing up we sat up our Magic Toppings Bar.

We decided to create our own topping bar with several choices. Then Abby could choose what she wanted on her slice of pie and I could have what I wanted on mine. Our choices were (1) whipped cream (2) chopped pecans (3) sprinkles (4) caramel ice cream topping and (5) vanilla ice cream. Not only was the topping bar easy to set up, it enabled us to personalize our pie. The sprinkles were included for the little grandchildren but as it turns out the older granddaughter chose them too! Kids just love sprinkles.
