Let’s Be Friends-Book Review

Let’s Be Friends-Book Review

I love going to Barnes and Nobles but there’s a reason I don’t go more often….I come out with arm loads of books. This weekend I was one of 150 authors at the Kentucky Book Fair. As the author of a new book I was invited to come and sit at a table and hopefully sell my books. I did sell books, but I also came home with a sack full of new books to read.

Let's Be Friends

I saw so many books I wanted! It was hard to narrow it down just to a few. I see a good book and it just begs me to read it. This book was a no-brainer. I knew immediately I wanted to read it. Let’s Be FriendBs, by Elizabeth Hoagland, Elizabeth’s cousin, Bonnie was seated at the table next to me (I bought her book, too and will review it at a later date).

Anyway, Bonnie was a sweetheart. She had a huge vase of yellow roses. I mentioned that yellow roses were my favorite and before I could blink her husband had brought a vase and my table had yellow roses on it as well. Bonnie told me that Elizabeth was a grandmother and was interested in my book. Elizabeth even mentioned my book, The Faith-filled Grandmother, on her blog (how nice was that!) So I wandered down to meet her and purchased a copy of her book.

Let's Be Friends

I enjoyed chatting with Bonnie and Elizabeth and I even got to meet Elizabeth’s new grandson, Henry. Isn’t he adorable?

Let's Be Friends

Elizabeth’s book is such a fun read that I started it yesterday and finished it tonight. The book is a journey through Elizabeth’s friendships and how each friendship shared a gift with her. I enjoyed taking a mental stroll down memory lane with her and her girlfriends and came away feeling like I know them!

The book is chock full of fun things to do, great suggestions for getting closer to God and increasing our faith, as well as delicious recipes that I can’t wait to try! It inspired and entertained me but most of all it made me want to be closer to my sister/friends.

If you read her book you will meet the “Butter Babes” (you have to find out for yourself what that means) the “Ya-yas” and many more. You will find yourself laughing, crying and then laughing some more at their antics and mishaps.

It’s a great book to gift to your friends. I gave it 5 stars on Amazon and wrote a review there.

It’s a sweet read that your sister/friends will love!
