Day 14-Books and Women of Faith

Day 14 of 30 Days of Thanks

Books

My mom was a reader and passed on her love of books to me. I have already mentioned two books I am thankful for this month, The Bible and The Hiding Place. Today I wanted to give a shout out to an author I heard about years ago. Her name is Cathy Messecar and she is a wonderful writer. Cathy Turner Messecar, born in Nashville,Arkansas, has lived in Texas most of her life. Cathy and her husband, David, reside in Montogmery, Texas. From their rural farm, Leaning Tree Acres, they own and operate a trucking company, delivering rock and alfalfa. Cathy and David have two children and three grandchildren.

In A Still and Quiet Soul, author Cathy Messecar shows us how to be content and fill our days with joy.

In Messecar’s The Stained Glass Pickup, she encourages us to find  God  in unusual places. This is a wonderful, touching, thought provoking gift book that anyone on your gift list would love.

And finally A Scrapbook of Christmas Firsts is the sweetest collection of tips for family traditions and much, much more. If you are like me and find yourself rushing too much to enjoy the season then this book is a great way to bring harmony to this busy month. It helps us focus on the simplicity of the season by incorporating Scriptures, recipes, short stories, experiences, and words of wisdom.

You can meet Cathy at her blog…http://stainedglasspickup.blogspot.com or on Facebook!

Thank you, Lord, for women of faith and writer’s like Cathy!

  1. Hi, Julie,

Thank you for stopping by Nannahood. I’d love if you’d try one or more of my books. The one on contentment is a personal or group Bible study book, available on Kindle and other ebook formats. I also co-authored a Scrapbook of Motherhood Firsts, full color inside, gift book that’s perfect for baby showers. Blessings to you and yours and Happy Thanksgiving.
