I have a hard time being “wordless” on Wordless Wednesday but this week I will keep it short.
Perfection, there’s no need to say more!

Shirley DeMumbrum Bell was my first and most important teacher. She was also my mom and my best friend.
Today’s post is dedicated to teachers and to her.
My Mom
She was only sixteen years old when she eloped.
I was born a year later.
She was a teacher at the local elementary school for 17 years.
She loved to read and travel.
She was only 50 when she was diagnosed with colon cancer.
Her faith never waivered.
She died in July of 1990 at the age of 51 and I miss her still.
Every Mother’s Day there’s an ache in my heart.
This week is Teacher Appreciation week and this weekend is Mother’s Day.
Hug your mom and thank a teacher.
And if your mom happens to be a teacher, well then you have two reasons to appreciate her this week!
Please don’t forget about NanaHood’s Mother’s Day Celebration. Click on the icon on the right hand side of the page that looks like this >
Contest ends this Friday! Winner receives $40 worth of NanaHood merchandise (their choice).

I can’t believe Wednesday is here again. If you visit NanaHood frequently you know that I’m a nana again. You might also know that my twin boys (who are very tall and accustomed to big things, as in size 16 tennis shoes) are very uncomfortable around tiny things, like their new niece.
Even though Kennedy is now one month old, they haven’t held her…until tonight.
Don’t you just love the way she’s looking at Uncle Russell. I think she’s thinking, “So why have you been ignoring me for the last month?”
Look how her little head fits inside his hand.
Hope you all have a great Wednesday! Don’t forget to click on the Mother’s Day Celebration and Contest button on the right side. Some lucky person is going to win $40 worth of merchandise from the NanaHood store.

Welcome to Wordy Wednesday at NanaHood. My cousin Martha and her husband Glenn are awesome grandparents. Last weekend they took two of their grands camping.
As you can tell there is a lot of planning and preparation involved.
Everyone had a blast, but granddaughter Madi was a little tired on the way home.
I asked Martha what if anything she would do differently on the next camping trip.
“Take more blankets or sleeping bags. Plan to stay longer! The most fun was playing UNO in the tent by flashlight and the random hugs we would get throughout the trip!”
Do you take your grands camping? Tell me about it!
A few weeks ago I visited cousin Martha in Florida. While I was there I got to spend quality time with her granddaughter Madi. If you remember Madi was featured last week holding her doll “Lula Bob.” Madi is a precocious little girl who is unbelievably adorable. She has a dusting of freckles over her nose and giggles that make you want to giggle right along with her.
She has Nana Martha wrapped around her little finger. So I shouldn’t have been surprised when we got in the car and Madi said, “Nana, I want to drive,” and Martha let her. We only went a couple of blocks and we didn’t meet any cars on the road, but it was an interesting ride!
And yes we all wore seatbelts!
Link up you guys! Happy Word Filled Wednesday!
