I am so happy I stumbled onto this book. My grandson is 12 never responds to my texts or answers but his name phone. My daughter says he never does with anyone. He recently lost his dad, actually found him after school unresponsive and he lives 7 hours away. I want to encourage his mother and him to promote him and teach him that communication is vital in life and just good manners to respond. She tells me not to lecture her, and with everything else, I constantly feel like I have to tip toe around important things that she doesn’t seem to notice. He’s a totally different boy then he was years ago and seems withdrawn and I just want to encourage him and let him know he can talk to me anytime but my daughter just lets him do whatever he wants really, even his food choices of which I feel things need to be taught and choices given to help him make good choices in life. Thank you. I signed up! I really need a go to for advice on how other Grammies handle things but without seeming pushy.
