How to Keep Your Kitchen Clean

My GRANDdaughter loves to make cupcakes. This past weekend we decided to make some to take to an event our church was hosting. I have to be the world’s absolutely messiest cook! I had a few other things I wanted to take, but none of them should have destroyed the kitchen. However, by the time we were finished the kitchen looked like a powdered sugar bomb had exploded! I would have made a picture to show you just how bad it was, but my phone was buried under the mess somewhere and I couldn’t find it.

This isn’t the first time I have destroyed the kitchen…I do it on a regular basis. I decided there had to be a way to keep the kitchen clean while cooking so I did a little research. Of all the articles I read on the topic, this is the one I liked best. If you are a messy cook you should read it too, or you can read my list below which will probably NOT show up if you Google “How to keep your kitchen clean.”

NanaHood’s Suggestions for a Clean Kitchen….

1. Only eat things that have less than three ingredients. Peanut butter and crackers. Toast and butter. Soup from a can and crackers. Less food…less mess.

2. Tell the husband and kids that the only way they get a home cooked meal is if they clean the kitchen (or at least help!)

3. Get a dog and let him lick up whatever you spill or drop. (We have a black and white spaniel who turned totally white during the powdered sugar bomb escapade!)

4. Invite guests over for dinner and after you eat go to the bathroom and stay for a very long time. With any luck they’ll get bored and clean the kitchen for you.

And my very most favorite way to keep the kitchen clean….

EAT OUT!
