Doll Terminator

Little girls fall into two categories; those that destroy their dolls and those who don’t. My cousin, Martha, was The Doll Terminator.

Martha doesn’t look a thing like Arnold. She’s much prettier, but they do have something in common…they destroyed things!

I didn’t.

Every Christmas Martha and I would get the same doll from Santa. Martha would rip into her package, yank out the doll and proceed to rip it’s clothes off and mess up its hair.

Not me. First, I undid the tape, then peeled the paper off, folded it and handed it to my mom. Then I gently removed the doll and held her in my arms. Then I ran and hid.

Why?

Because the Doll Terminator would soon be after MY doll!

Fast Forward 40 or so years.

This is Martha’s granddaughter, Madi and her doll Lula Bob. (What can I say? The girl is a true southerner. Every woman has to have two names!)

At Christmas time my daughter and I gave my granddaughter a doll that you could style her hair. This is what she looked like (except our doll was blonde).

Yesterday I walked through the house and glanced at the doll/demon ????

I think cousin Martha’s genetic Doll Terminator gene some how got transferred to my granddaughter and my Doll Safe-a-nator gene got transferred to Martha’s granddaughter. Thus, Lula Bob gets to live in peace while Dream Dazzlers Stylin Head Doll (found at Toys r Us for 24.99) is doomed to look like something from a horror flick.

Oh well. I love her (my granddaughter of course) anyway….even if she is a Doll Terminator.

My daughters would rip off the clothes, paint the faces, get the hair all messed up and now they have their own doll demon girls!!!! LOL So funny, No doll has clothes on it unless the doll has on the clothes that will not come off!! Of course they don’t get played with untill the markers or crayons can come in contact with that doll!!! So funny.

Let’s face it, some little girls were born to destroy dolls!

that’s too funny. I was always careful with my dollies and my sister destroyed hers. Now my little girl draws all over her dolls, much to my horror. I even gave her some of my old toys which were in pristine condidion and now they are sporting pen marks and tangled hair!
