What every mom-to-be or new mom needs to know

I love reading and gobble books up faster than a package of cookies (or almost as fast), so when I was asked to review Claudine Wolk’s book, It gets easier! And other lies we tell new mothers, I said, “yes.”

Even though I am now way past motherhood and in the nanahood stage of life, I have a daughter who is expecting (woo hoo!) and I thought she might enjoy reading it after I finished it, and I was right.

Rachel (who is expecting in March) had this to say about the book, ” A lot of the other books I’ve read had a lot of medical information in them. This one is more personal and is written in an easy to understand way. I like the fact that the author includes things that happened to her and her friends.”

Wolk’s book addresses issues like:

  • The Talk? you need to have with your husband before you give birth
  • what you really need to know about labor and delivery
  • the importance of a baby schedule (no matter what anyone else says)
  • the 6 Baby Commandments that can foster good eating and sleeping habits
  • 5 new mom mantras that will help keep you sane
  • body image after giving birth
  • how to keep housework to a minimum

Personally, my favorite part of the book was where it talks about the importance of taking naps.

(Daughter Rachel and GRANDdaughter Abby napping)

If you are expecting or you know someone who is, this book would make a great gift (hint, hint). You can order it from Amazon.com
